Lontrel tankmix
Dow AgroSciences has received registration for tank mixing Lontrel and Roundup for use on Roundup Ready canola to control Canada thistle and wild buckwheat with one pass.
Dow sought registration for the Lontrel/Roundup tank mix after farmers expressed an interest in improved Canada thistle control.

Bobcat instrumentation
Bobcat has introduced a deluxe instrument panel for its G-series skid-steer loaders. It can be factory installed or added on.
The panel monitors several loader functions ranging from hydraulic oil pressure and temperature to engine oil pressure and battery voltage.
A shut-down system automatically turns off the machine if the monitor determines a fault in vital systems.
A built-in help system gives tutorials on using hydraulically powered attachments and suggests possible causes for various diagnostic conditions, such as a broken wire or the need to add oil or coolant.

Bale shredder
J. Benallack Welding is introducing the Bale Boss that will shred bales for feed bunks, windrow feeding and bedding.
It carries two large bales at one time and requires at least an 85 h.p. tractor.
An optional grain tank comes with an unloading auger. There is also an optional grain processor.

Iron working system
Haukaas Marketing Inc. has introduced the Metal Master, a portable iron working system. The Metal Master hydraulically folds out from the truck bed to the proper operating height. When plugged into a portable power source it can deliver 30 tons of fabricating power. The punching tool can punch a one-inch hole in 3Ú8-in. flat iron. The eight-in. metal shear can shear up to 1Ú2 in. by six in. or 3Ú4 in. by six in. flat iron.
The 16-in. brake can bend 1Ú4-in. by 16-in. plate to 90 degrees. The remote hydraulics on a separate control can be used for service cranes, hoists on utility trailers, or as a hydraulic power pack.
It comes with six punches and dies.

Overdrive inverter
Allied Transmission Ltd. has introduced the InterMotive Products overdrive inverter to Canada.
The device is designed to increase the life and safety of brake systems and transmissions, especially in larger vehicles.
Ideally, drivers should turn off the overdrive when they are in the city, on hilly terrain, when heavily loaded or when pulling a trailer.
However, most drivers forget and incur higher brake and transmission maintenance costs as well as creating a safety concern due to overheated brakes.
The overdrive inverter automatically shuts off the overdrive when the vehicle is started, requiring the driver to engage the overdrive gear when it is needed.
